Limited-Edition

I’m sorry that I haven’t written in a while. I’m not sure why that’s happening. I love writing these posts—and I love the process—but for some reason, I keep putting it at the end of my to-do list and then not even getting to it.

So, I’m going to do a few short, slightly nonsense posts to get myself back in the mood and motion. These posts are still very important to me, even if they aren’t something that could turn into a longer piece or something that would draw in followers.

So… here is a glimpse into my slightly chaotic mind.

I was a very picky kid—both with healthy and unhealthy food. I basically lived off plain pasta and plain pancakes. No butter, no parmesan, no toppings of any kind. Fruit was a great dessert though.

My mom forced a breakfast drink into me every morning (with major protest), and lunch was the same from kindergarten through graduation: a peanut butter sandwich and an apple with the skin peeled off (because apparently the skin caused gas, and no one wanted gas in class).

Dinner always came with a forced glass of milk—which was the worst thing ever. I can guzzle like a champ, but I hated it. Oddly enough, I didn’t even drink soda. I didn’t like hamburgers. I didn’t even love pizza.

Somewhere along the way—probably college—I finally started to expand my palate. Now I’ll try just about anything, and I actually love trying new foods.

Diet Coke Lime.

My senior year of college, I spent a lot of time at my uncle’s house, and he was fully addicted to diet soda. That’s where I fell in love with Diet Coke Lime. It was the best. At the time, it was a normal flavor—but Coke got rid of it in 2018. No warning. Just gone.

At the end of 2025, it came back… but only as a limited-edition item. It showed up, stuck around for about two months, and disappeared again. Honestly? Rude.

Apparently, I’m not alone in this obsession—several people at work feel the same way. And no, I didn’t stockpile it the first time because I assumed “limited edition” was a joke.

It was not.

So imagine my excitement when, a few weeks ago, it came back again—and on sale.

This time, I am absolutely stocking up and preparing for its inevitable disappearance.

Which leads me to some very serious questions:

  • Why did it come back?

  • Was it selling so well they had no choice?

  • Did they just find extra cases in a warehouse somewhere?

  • Is it actually limited-time again?

  • And most importantly… how much is too much to stockpile?

Do you have any foods or drinks you feel this way about?
Have you ever had a limited-edition item disappear on you?
And—most importantly—have you tried Diet Coke Lime?

Enjoy the things you love… because apparently, they can just vanish.
